Purpose of PI In District 54

Like all of A.A., the primary purpose of members involved with public information service is to carry the A.A. message to the alcoholic who  still suffers. Working together, members of local Public Information committees convey A.A. information to the general public, including the media.

Public Schools Reach Out for the Hand of AA

We have a request for literature at every public school district even we have attended. I spoke to Mike L at DIA and this is the plan.

We will create a resource package because of the enormous request for literature.  The resource packet would contain:

Three possible pamphlets (44 Question, Young People in AA, Problems other than Alcohol)-We want to meet at a later date to discuss what pamphlets we would use in more detail.

  • Pamphlet Rack
  • Young persons in AA poster (we want to buy a frame at the dollar store to encase the posters
  • DVD (used to educate the educators about AA)-We would hope that an AA volunteer will be present in order to answer the educator’s questions.
  • Business card that has Intergroup info and the directors info so the DIA can be contacted to either refill the pamphlets or other 12 step needs

We would create a separate resource packages. One that focuses on the students needs and one for educators.

We want to hand these packets out to schools in the Dallas metroplex with a focus on alternative schools at first.

There are so many opportunities to carry the message. For volunteer information please call me.
